Canon Character ListAfter the War of the Lions many of the original characters were murdered or killed in battle. This doesn't leave much for remaining characters to play, however it presents an interesting opportunity since many of those who survive hold higher levels of power than they did before, or they will be graded at a higher character level due to their past experiences in the story. Prayers of Heresy currently acknowledges that Ramza and Alma Beoulve have "disappeared", and per canon theory they are alive and traveling the world under false identities at this juncture. Queen Louveria and Prince Orinus are missing and assumed alive. Olan Durai is alive but also missing as he has been labeled a heretic and accused of treason against the Crown.
NOTES: All characters listed have been aged an additional 5 years in conjunction with the timeline of the Prayers of Heresy game.

Noble Houses
The houses in BLUE are canon names in the game. Those marked in ORANGE are non-canon but considered established in order to sufficiently fill or replace the roles that were lost during the the War of the Lions. The King has also elevated certain families into statuses of nobility where before they might have been of common or lesser birth.
ROYAL HOUSES Atkascha Whatever remains of the royal house of Atkascha is all dust and shadows at this point. Queen Ovelia is the only one sitting on the throne of Ivalice despite her true origins, with the Dowager Queen Louveria and Prince Orinus nowhere to be found. It is rumored that Louveria is still imprisoned in Fort Besselat with no attempts of rescue having been reported successful. However the real mystery resides in the whereabouts of Prince Orinus. He is neither prisoner nor present in the royal court, which leaves the current royal family questioning whether the infant prince died in the final remnants of the War of the Lions, or if it was the perfect opportunity for a noble family to spirit him away somewhere. Only time will tell on what remains of the Atkascha bloodline.
Goltanna (Rulers of Zeltennia) One of the two noble houses that started the War of the Lions, Prince Druksmald Goltanna supported Ovelia's claim to the throne in hopes that he would become her regent and control Ivalice in that fashion. Unfortunately plans didn't go as initially expected and eventually Delita was the one to put an end to the prince's life. The only reason why the Goltanna's do not suffer the same fate as the Larg's hinge on two reasons: 1. Zeltennia is primarily neutral territory as the Goltanna's rule themselves but swear a thin level of fealty to Ivalice after the 50 Year War; and 2. the Royal House of Goltanna still supports Ovelia's seat upon the throne. As a result, the royal house of Goltanna still thrives long after Druksmald's death. Unaware that it was by Delita's hand that their father is now a feast for the worms, the new Prince Goltanna happily claims his birthright without complaint.
Heiral (Ruler of Lesalia / Ivalice) Delita is currently the only living Heiral in Ivalice. Having ascended to the throne by marriage to Princess Ovelia, Delita is the first of his kind to move up the ranks from commoner to king in a lifetime. His only sister, Tietra, was murdered during the events prior to the War of the Lions and was the catalyst to Delita's ascension to his current status. There are currently no heirs by his bloodline at the present time.
DUCAL HOUSES Barrington (Grand Duke, Ruler of Fovoham)
After the demise of Gerrith Barrington, the grand duke has had no issues with plenty of heirs to replace him. However, a serious investigation is currently being orchestrated by the royal family not only for the family's crimes within the War of the Lions, but a litany of extra curricular projects that the grand duke invested along the way. With Rapha and Marach Galthena providing testimony to the family's war crimes against the Crown and country, the new heir might not end up enjoying his tenure of power for very long.
Delacroix (Ruler of Lionel) After the fall of Cardinal Alphonse Delacroix the Glabados Church continued with business as usual in Lionel until a successor could be found. It hasn't been until recently that an appropriate replacement has solidified their claim to the region. After several months of in-fighting and assassination attempts, the final victory belongs to that of Alphonse's nephew. Though little is known about the young man, it is said that he is well versed in the art of science and is obsessed with scientific advancements.
MARQUIS HOUSES Elmdore (Ruler of Limberry) Messam's death was an unprecedented one in the lands of Limberry. The Silver Demon was not expected to lose against the likes of a young Beoulve and his ragtag team. After the events in Limberry Castle, Messam's young teenage daughter takes on role of the Marquess of Limberry along with the teachings of the samurai. Her elder half-brother by a bastard birth also lives as the only two remaining bloodlines of House Elmdore.
EARL HOUSES Beoulve One of the most well-known and respected noble houses from Gallione has now fallen by the wayside as all of its family members are either deceased or status unknown. The only two members of House Beoulve speculated to still be alive somewhere are Barbaneth's youngest son and daughter: Ramza and Alma. However, due to the events of the War of the Lions, any claim to title or property has been seized by the royal family.
Tengille The treachery of Folmarv's actions have brought House Tengille to its knees. Its only remaining survivor and head of house, Meliadoul, is permitted to keep her title and half of her lands by grace of both the Church of Glabados and the king in exchange for complete fealty. Each side has its reasons for keeping House Tengille around, putting Meliadoul in a particular crunch similar to her father. She succeeds her father, Folmrav Tengille, and her brother, Isilude, as both are deceased with no further heirs.
COUNT HOUSES Zamas A house that loyally serves the Delacroix of Lionel, the Countess is a collector of creatures as pets. After the passing of her husband she dedicated the land and fortune into transforming it into her own personal zoo of some sort. Her house is specifically mentioned in one of the propositions since it appears that a Morbol plans on making its escape at some point.
VISCOUNT HOUSES Bafai Another house mentioned within the propositions, namely because he appears to have stirred the ire of a mysterious Thief Zero. The Viscount Bafai also shares similar residence in Lionel with the Countess Zamas, and is a collector of rare treasures and artifacts whenever he can get his hands on them.
DISGRACED / REMOVED NOBLE HOUSES
Larg (Former Ruler of Gallionne) After Delita seized the throne the first order of business was to ensure that House Larg would never rise to power again. Not that there were many family members left after the War of the Lions annihilated any possible successors along the way. However there is still the matter of Larg's sister, Louveria, and her son Prince Orinas whom both of their current whereabouts is unknown. House Larg has been officially declared stripped of its right to land and lordship, although there is secretly a great deal of contention among the nobles over this royal decree. All of Gallionne is temporarily under the immediate jurisdiction of House Heiral until an appropriate replacement is worthy of the prize.
Thadalfus The Thadalfus name is already disgraced from the grandfather's actions during the 50 Year War. However, due to the events at the Windmill Hut involving Argath murdering Delita's sister, Tietra Heiral, in order to take down the Corpse Brigade; all remaining Thadalfus family members are to never be allowed to rise to power henceforth. Any noble house found harboring a Thadalfus in friendship risks the possibility of being stripped of rank, land, and other benefits given by the royal family.
